Susan Mogelin
A gift of oil paints at an impressionable age sparked Susan’s love of colour, texture, form and function.
Formal education included Settlement Studies and Fine Art at the University of Guelph, however, the luxury of painting was unattainable as life moved on. A decision to leave business ownership and a busy life in the south has provided an opportunity to rediscover the joy of messing about with paint.
Susan has has studied with Linda Bester, Bonnie Steinberg, Haliburton School of Fine Art, and has benefitted from the mentorship of Studio XX and Peter John Reid in Owen Sound ON, Mark Hope of Wasaga Beach and John David Anderson of Stayner, ON. Most of her work is representational and/or impressionistic. Recently, the multiple curved shapes of canoes and kayaks have been landing on her canvasses and occasionally an abstract!
Susan’s work has been selected for juried art exhibits at:
The Tom Thompson Art Gallery, Owen Sound, ON
Southampton Art Gallery, Southampton, ON
Meaford Hall Galleries, Meaford, ON
Desmond Juried Art Exhibition, in Ridgetown, ON
Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts in Collingwood, ON.
Her work has been exhibited at the MacDonald Stewart Art Gallery, in Guelph, ON, at library shows in Paisley and Collingwood.
Susan has held memberships in: Tiny Art Collective, Wasaga Artists and the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts
